There’s been precious little cheer for many fruit growers along the River Murray in recent years. Drought, over supply, poor prices and a high Australian dollar have squeezed the profits out of the wine, grape and citrus industries.

But as Kerry Staight reports, while traditional fruit has fallen on hard times a tropical tree is turning up trumps.
